Hello

My incredible journey as an educator began more than 28 years ago! After graduating from college, I began teaching elementary school and quickly discovered my true passion for shaping young minds.  Now, after three decades, I have retired from public school education, enriched by a profound commitment to the field. Throughout this journey of exploration, challenge, and professional growth, I have found immense joy in watching elementary and middle school students flourish.

Teaching first in New Jersey and subsequently in the Metro Atlanta area, has shaped my foundational teaching philosophy and pedagogical approach. I have learned to blend theoretical concepts with practical applications in real classroom environments. I also recognized the importance of using both formal and informal assessment data to address learning gaps and provide targeted enrichment. Moreover, I found that meaningful student engagement and discipline are interconnected. When students receive impactful instruction, they become organized, positive, self-motivated, and ultimately successful. In summary, the most rewarding aspect of teaching is facilitating authentic learning experiences that enable students to cultivate character-building skills, problem-solving strategies and positive social interactions.

While I cherish teaching, I also value spending quality time with my family. My husband and I actively participate in community outreach, church ministries and family events. We also make it a point to travel to new places and hike scenic trails together - it's all about creating amazing memories.
